Tiptoe past the pools, slow down where the rocks squeeze the river tight, and through that cleft in the rock you will find a glen of serene wonder. A place so guarded by the land that only your ancestral memories could have led you there, all those of you with magic in your veins.

emitting a grinding thunder that permeates the flesh and psyche

The sensitive souls among us thrive by carving the right amount of space for our wholeness out of the whirlwind of noise and busyness that surrounds us

then more sun

both from past print collections and never before printed

removing the extraneous

every breath dense and heavy

it is so silent that if you place your ear against the bark of a tall giant

eager to meet the spirit waiting for her on the fells

The earth parts to form a roiling cauldron

that we returned to frolic more the next day

When I am among trees so old their wisdom is palpable
