She(1862 1938) was the younger daughter of the Arts & Crafts designer and writer William Morris and his wife Jane. May was a talented designer maker and ran the Morris & Co embroidery studio for many years until her father's death in 1896. She was a campaigner for women artists and co founded the Women's Guild of Arts in 1907.
