Always a staple whisky throughout the world, it's consistently in the top few for worldwide market share. We estimate this was bottled in the 1980s. Colour: straw. Nose: fresh and unexpectedly smoky and kind of mineral, very flinty. Gets then a little grassier and waxier, with also notes of fresh fruits such as gooseberries and butter pears. Grilled beef, bacon. Rather complex. Mouth: sweet, thick, creamy

In return they produced a new blend which they named Grande Réserve Edouard VII
