The hood can only be released by being simultaneously pushed down and rotated forward. With Level II Retention capabilities, the 6280 can be adjusted to a Level III Retention with the addition of an optional Sentry device.

It has a safety and a tab on the side used to retract the blade in addition to the thumb slide
